WEB LINK MANAGER

  Back

DESCRIPTION:

Use the Web link manager to create and manage a list of health and fitness related Web links.  To manage a large number of items, information is organized in a tree view.  Each category is represented by a folder and each link is shown as a bulleted item.  Folders can hold an unlimited number of links and sub-folders.

This tool is divided into two parts.  Links and folders are shown in the top half of the screen and details about each item are shown below.  When you first install Weightmania, the Web link manager is pre-initialized with a list of general categories.  These folders are initially empty.  You can use them to organize your Web links or delete them altogether.  Any object can be renamed and any object can be deleted except the root folder.  Folders and links can also be cut, copied and pasted to other folders in the same tree.  Right-click (on a Mac, press the mouse button while holding the Control key) directly on the tree to view a popup menu with special options.

Use the buttons below to create, add, modify and delete links and folders.  To begin, select "New Folder" or "New Item".  This adds a new object to the folder selected above.  Click once on the new item to modify it.  This copies all of the information about the selected object to the fields below.  Every object requires a name, but all other fields are optional.  Names do not have be unique (multiple folders and links can share the same name).  When you are finished editing an item, select "Modify" to add your changes to the tree above.  If an item has been modified correctly, all of the tab fields will clear.

The input fields for this manager are described below.  Note:  To increase viewable space, adjust the divider (the gray separator that divides the top half of the window from the bottom half) up or down with the mouse.

BUTTONS:

View... Displays the specified link in the default Web browser.  Note:  This requires an active Internet connection.
New Item Creates a new link item and adds it to folder selected above.  By default, this item is labeled, "New Item".  Use the fields below to change the name and add detailed information.  A name is required, but all other fields are optional.  When you are finished entering information, select "Modify".
New Folder Creates a new link folder and adds it to folder selected above.  By default, this item is labeled, "New Folder".  Use the "Name" field below to change the folder name.  This is the only required field.  All other fields and tabs will be disabled.  When you are finished entering information, select "Modify".
Modify Modifies the object currently selected using information from the fields above.  You can modify links and folders.  When an object has been modified correctly, all of the tab fields will clear and turn gray.
Delete Removes the selected object.  You can delete any object except the root folder.  Deleting a folder automatically deletes all of the child objects in that folder.
Print Item Prints details of the selected Web link.
Print List Prints a list of all Web links.

FIELDS:

There are three fields for storing basic information about each Web link.  Note:  You must enter a name, but all other fields are optional.
