  Back

DESCRIPTION:

Use this tool to determine your one-repetition maximum weight ("one-rep. max."), and percentages of that weight, for any weight training exercise.  One-rep. max. is the maximum weight for which you can do one repetition.  For example, the most weight you can bench press one time.  It is widely used to measure overall strength and determine how much weight to use in many weight training programs.  The percentages calculated below are useful for estimating weight needed for each set.

To use this calculator, enter the maximum weight you can lift for ten repetitions (ten times) in the first box on the left.  This will calculate your one-rep. max, then display 20 percentages of that below.  Or, leave the first field blank and manually enter a value for the second field to simply calculate percentages.  All Weightmania tables can be printed or copied to other applications like Excel.  Right-click for a speed menu with special options.
