EDIT EXERCISES AND MUSCLE GROUPS

  Back

DESCRIPTION:

Select "Edit Exercises and Muscle Groups" under the main "Edit" menu to create and manage cardiovascular and weight training exercises along with weight training muscle groups. To manage a large number of items, information is organized in a tree view. Categories and muscle groups are represented by folders and exercises are shown as bulleted items. Folders can hold an unlimited number of exercises and sub-folders.

This tool is divided into two parts. Categories, muscle groups and exercises are shown in the top half of the screen and details about each item are shown below.  When you first install Weightmania, approximately 370 exercises and seven weight training muscle groups are added by default.

Any object can be renamed, moved, or deleted except the "Exercises", "Cardiovascular" and "Weight Training" folders. These are known as root folders. They can be renamed, but not deleted or moved. Folders and exercises can also be cut, copied and pasted to other folders in the same tree.  Right-click (on a Mac, press the mouse button while holding the Control key) directly on the tree to view a popup menu with special options.

Any sub-folder added to the Weight Training root folder becomes a muscle group. These groups appear in weight training workout forms and other related tools. This is not true for the cardiovascular folder. Sub-folders added to the cardiovascular folder can only be used to visually group exercises. They have no effect on other tools.

Use the buttons below to create, add, modify and delete muscle groups and exercises.  To begin, select "New Folder" or "New Item".  This adds a new object to the folder selected above.  Click once on the new item to modify it.  This copies all of the information about the selected object to the fields below.  Every object requires a name, but all other fields are optional.  Names do not have be unique (multiple folders and grocery items can share the same name).  When you are finished editing an item, select "Modify" to add your changes to the tree above.  If an item has been modified correctly, all of the fields will clear.

The input fields for this manager are described below.  Note:  To increase viewable space, adjust the divider (the gray separator that divides the top half of the window from the bottom half) up or down with the mouse.
